Inheritance

“It is finished.”

”Into Your Hands,

I commend my spirit.”

The Tree of Eden

Poison swallowed,

By the Tree of Golgotha.

Christ, the New Adam,

Mankind begun anew,

Fellowship restored and more.

Freed from the husks of pigs

Returned to the Father’s House.

Witness the death of Death.

Lay Your Head upon my lap,

That I may hold You,

Rock You,

Cradle You in my arms.

I arrange Your Hair,

And wash the Blood,

Clinging to You,

Mourning over You,

As Mother Mary.

Open side of Jesus

Receive me.

Hide me,

In the cave of Your Heart.

I throw off my idols.

My sin is finished,

Nailed to Your Cross.

“It is finished,”

My war against You,

The burden and the price,

Life born in Your dying,

And swaddled in faith’s dark night.

The Church born

From Your pierced side.

As a fountain for the Ages,

Spilling forth

The wine of Crushed Grapes.

New Day!

Eternal Spring!

“Into Your Hands,

I commend My Spirit.”

Love has the last word.

Weaned Child

I am the weaned child,
Upon Your knee.
Forgetful of time,
I curl Your hair about my fingers,
And tug at Your heartstrings.

My toys, the shiny objects of yesterday,
Lie by the stairs,
By which I began my ascent to You.

Comfort me.
Cuddle me.
Tickle me.

You spend Your universe,
As You had always planned,
Delighting one so small,
The least of the Children of Man.

My Prayer

Words are swirling

Like leaves,

Lifted heavenward,

On bursts of emotion,

Only to settle quietly,

As the storm of love  passes

Into Abiding Presence.

It’s Sunday

Come Lord, feed Your Church;
It’s Sunday!
Command us, “Rise” with You;
It’s Sunday!

Day of the Lord,
Day of Promise,
Day of supplication,
Day of fulfillment.
It’s Sunday!

Gathered with the Mother,
In the sunshine presence
Of celestial hosts,
Rejoicing with the Chosen,
Celebrate!
It’s Sunday.

I Love Waking Up

I love waking up
In the Heart of Jesus.
Before my eyes even open
I feel You all about me.
You are looking at Me
As Mary looked on You
In slumber serene.

I am stirring.
You are smiling Your “Good morning”
I see You are not alone
I blow my heartfelt kisses
To Your happy entourage.
Heavenly family, you, too,
Welcome me to New Day.

Yes, Sweet Jesus, I am ready.
You’ve watched over me in sleep;
Now, again, I pick up my cross.
Walk the hours of today,
As Light upon my way.

Seeing is Believing? What Do You See?

While bicycling, I came upon this tree.

I was stopped in my tracks by what I saw.

On my next ride , I took this  photograph.

What, if anything other than a tree, do you see?

Scourging and Crucifixion imaged in living tree

To Greater Heights

Posted by Be Holy on February 15, 2012

Lift me to Your shoulder;
Carry me, henceforth.
I can see all things in a new way,
From my throne above the world.
Your Shepherd’s crook in view,
A sign of assurance,
Calming the sea, defeating the flesh,
Vanquishing the Foe.

Perched in Paradise,
I ride above the storm.
Battles won by stillness,
Flames quenched by Water from the Rock.

Carrying the one You love,
Bearing Your burden,
Loving Your labor,
Loving me.

I see the wound of Your Cross.
I see Blood,and Bone,
And I see me,
Carved in flesh,
As you carry me,
Onward and upward,
On to greater heights.
